Roster: Fly-In/Fly-Out (6 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off)

About The Role 

The General Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and inventory control of general materials, consumables, tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), office supplies, and operational equipment. The role ensures inventory accuracy, proper storage practices, timely material availability, and compliance with company policies and Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards. The incumbent maintains accurate inventory records, supports uninterrupted business operations, and collaborates closely with Procurement, Inventory Planning, Maintenance, Operations, and Finance to ensure effective warehouse management.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, and shipping documentation.
  • Ensure all materials are accurately identified, labeled, and stored in designated warehouse locations.
  • Maintain proper storage conditions to preserve the quality and integrity of inventory items.
  • Load, unload, and safely move materials using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse in accordance with company standards and 5S principles.
  • Ensure warehouse shelving, storage bins, and equipment are properly maintained and utilized.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP or Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Monitor stock levels and notify the Inventory Planning or Procurement team when replenishment is required.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and participate in periodic stocktakes to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, and excess inventory and report findings to management.
  • Ensure appropriate stock rotation using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out), where applicable.

Material Issuing & Receiving

  • Issue materials only against approved material requisitions, work orders, or authorized requests.

  • Verify quantities, item descriptions, and documentation before issuing materials.

  • Record all receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and inventory adjustments accurately in the ERP system.

  • Process returned materials and ensure they are inspected and recorded appropriately.

  • Coordinate with user departments to ensure timely availability of materials for operational needs.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate warehouse documentation, including receiving reports, issue vouchers, transfer records, and inventory adjustment forms.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and warehouse performance reports.

  • Assist in inventory reconciliation and support month-end and year-end inventory reporting.

  • Maintain accurate item master data, including descriptions, units of measure, storage locations, and inventory classifications.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Comply with company Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of all materials, including hazardous or sensitive items where applicable.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged inventory, and warehouse incidents promptly.
  • Participate in safety inspections, audits, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Ensure warehouse operations comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Inventory Planning, Maintenance, Operations, Finance, and Logistics to ensure efficient material flow.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and transport providers to resolve delivery discrepancies or damaged materials.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, stock-out risks, and delivery issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support operational shutdowns, maintenance activities, and projects by ensuring required materials are available on time.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and material handling processes.
  • Support warehouse optimization initiatives, including ERP enhancements, barcode systems, and process automation.
  • Recommend improvements to warehouse layout, storage utilization, and inventory management practices.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of warehouse procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
