ZamZam Bank is Ethiopia's first fully licensed interest-free bank, established to enhance financial inclusion, particularly for individuals who prefer Sharia-compliant banking services. The bank commenced operations with a paid-up capital of 872 million Birr and a subscribed capital of 1.683 billion Birr from over 11,200 shareholders.
